Dr. Ottoson was born and raised in central NJ. After obtaining his B.S. in Biochemistry from Cook College at Rutgers University, Dr. O was briefly employed in the pharmaceutical industry prior to finding his life-long career in veterinary medicine in 2006. Immediately on graduation from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. O began the journey to achieve board certification in small animal surgery by completing a rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital, followed by a surgical internship at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists in MD. However, upon accomplishing the two years of internship, Dr. O realized the challenges of medicine and the opportunity to have life-long relationships with patients was missing in his career and transitioned to working in private practice back in his home state for the past few years. Dr. O is currently a member of the AVMA and NJVMA. Dr. O was married in September 2018 and is currently enjoying renovating a new home with his beautiful wife Courtney. When not seeing patients, Dr. O enjoys spending time playing golf, fishing, volunteering for local charities and his church, and spending time with family, friends, and his family dogs, Hayley and Tito.
